Dr. Mehmet Oz is a Turkish-American heart surgeon was born on June 11, 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1986 he obtained a joint degree in MD and MBA the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Wharton Business School. He is a professor and vice chairman of surgery at Columbia University in New York. His research interests include heart replacement surgery. He has authored more than 350 original publications. He has frequently aired at Oprah Winfrey show and Good Morning America. He has advised people to eat lot of tomatoes, which helps people look younger. Coffee apart from being a nice hot drink activates the brain too. He is a great admirer of olive oils and suggests that it be used in salad dressing, instead of mayonnaise. i. Eat plenty of fruits, at least 9 types of fruits and vegetables each day.
j. Nuts are essential for you. You are advised to eat one ounce of nuts each day.
k. Eat different types of fish at least three times a week.
l. Refined enriched wheat flour, white sugar and high fructose corn syrup is to be avoided.
m. Drinking water before food gives you a feeling of fullness. Try to drink two glasses of water before a meal.
n. Take a multi-vitamin tablet daily. It should contain 800 micrograms of folate, 400 international units of vitamin D, 1200 milligrams of calcium, 400 milligrams of magnesium, 2 grams of omega-3 fatty acids.
o. Last not the least; avoid trans fat and saturated fats at all cost.
Dr. Oz diet plan is mainly based on psychological working of the body.
