Scarsdale is a village in New York, United States. The name become famous for secondary school education and diet plan, commonly known as Scarsdale Diet. This Scarsdale Diet has been around for some time. Dr. Herman Tarnower developed this diet. This diet promises a weight loss of one-pound-per-day by limiting the food intake to some specified amounts of fruits, vegetables and mostly lean sources of protein such as fish, chicken and meat. This Scarsdale diet also encourages speeding up the weight loss by the use of artificial sweeteners and also herbal appetite suppressants.
In Scarsdale Diet there is no calorie counting, but meals must be limited to breakfast, lunch and dinner. Remember that snaking is not allowed while on this diet.

You can be on Scarsdale diet from seven to fourteen days. Then have some break, before restarting this diet plan. A strict meal plan must be followed, which must be low in carbohydrates such as sugar, wheat flour and high in vitamins and minerals. Herbal appetite suppressants are often encouraged.
